“…fabricated a microenvironment‐sensitive AIEgen IQ‐Cm for visual fast discrimination of Gram‐negative bacteria, Gram‐positive bacteria, and fungi ( Figure ). [ 166 ] The Gram‐negative bacteria E. coli possess double‐layered cell wall structure, which can restrict the entry to cytoplasm. In this situation, IQ‐Cm mainly binds with the membrane of E. coli with green emission.…”

“…So far, several AIEgens coupled with bacteria recognition groups such as positively charged groups, along with antibiotics, boric acid, carbohydrates, and so on (Table 2), have been reported to image and eliminate pathogens on the basis of various binding interactions with bacteria. Most bacteria contain large amounts of anionic phospholipids, making their surfaces negatively charged and thus allowing positively charged Anionic phospholipids [25] Anionic phospholipids [32] Anionic phospholipids [40] Anionic phospholipids [39b]…”

“…In general, on account of their adverse hydrophobicity and ACQ nature to the imaging and PDT effects, most of reported NPs strategies are still unsuitable for traditional Ir(III) complexes 70 . Currently, ionic groups have attracted great interest in the biological field due to their unique water solubility, satisfying stability, low dark toxicity, and high cellular internalization under physiological conditions 71,72 . The preparation method of NPs by one‐step ion exchange is simple, feasible, and and give high yield.…”
