Abstract:BACKGROUND
Daily and event-driven HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) with oral tenofovir-emtricitabine is highly effective to prevent acquisition of HIV in men who have sex with men (MSM). PrEP care generally consists of 3-monthly in-clinic monitoring visits that include PrEP dispensing, counselling and screening for HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
