Ontological Tools in Anaerobic Fermentation Technologies: Bioinformation Database Applications

Abstract: An important direction of forming an effective system for recycling waste of various genesis is to optimize the processes of their treatment using the latest information resources. The paper deals with theoretical studies of directions for the systematization and optimization of anaerobic waste processing technologies using ontological tools based on information resources. Significant scientific support to biochemical research is provided by electronic bioinformatics databases such as KEGG, BacDive, and EAWAG-… Show more

“…In this case, AOP technologies can be effectively used, as proven by our previous studies [9]. The experimental data obtained from this work and previous studies [8,17,31] were summarized, and models of the effects of anaerobic conversion electrolysis were developed, taking into account the influencing factors on the condition of the activated sludge (Figure 10). Thus, a model was formed based on both this experiment and previous studies as a generalized formalization of the effects of electrolysis on different types of substrates and the metabolic activation of microorganisms during anaerobic digestion.…”

“…Research trends are represented in various areas of research, including wastewater treatment with increased methane production in anaerobic reactors equipped with electrodes (Tartakovsky et al (2011), Rani et al (2022) [3,4]); the improvement of design features of unit combinations to produce more hydrogen and methane (Rader et al (2010), Bo et al (2014) [5,6]); the influence of inoculum origin on the development of microbial associations in microbial electrolysis cell bioreactors (Cerrillo et al (2017) [7]); and microbial associations that determine the biochemical parameters of anaerobic waste processing to obtain biofuel (Shulipa et al (2017) [8]).…”

“…Comprehensively considering the problem of implementing biofuel technologies [12], it should be noted that this problem is straightforwardly related to the fields of economics, ecology, science and technology, food, and energy sources. In this regard, the feasibility of using biofuels as a primary energy source depends on its energy efficiency.…”
