Onward Migration Aspirations of Refugees, Integration Processes and Legal Alternatives to Secondary Migration

Abstract

I would like to also extend a special thanks in this regard to the facilitator organizations and individuals for helping me to get in touch with the refugees. The communication with the participants in Arabic would never be smooth and easy without the help of interpreters Dr. Baya Amouri and Rawan Hüdaifa; therefore, their unconditional support, time, and dedication are appreciated from the bottom of my heart.Conducting a PhD research along with the vicissitudes of life can be challenging and exhausting. During those times, I found the peace and power to continue just being at home even in times when I was kilometres away from it. Because "home is not always one door and four walls, instead it's two eyes and a heartbeat." My deepest and greatest thanks to my dearest father Ramazan Kılıç who has always been a "home" for me since the first moment I breathed in this world. His unconditional love, endless affection, continuous support, his true wisdom, and eternal belief in me always gave me courage and motivation to persevere on this path. The loving memory of my beautiful mother Seher has never left me alone, I always feel her healing love, still see her sweet smile and shining beauty which give me inspiration to do good for the humanity.
