Op0135 inhibition of Hsp90 Reduces Progression of Dermal Fibrosis and Induces Regression of Established Experimental Dermal Fibrosis Induced by Bleomycin
Abstract:Background:Our previous study demonstrated that Heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) is overexpressed in the skin of patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc), in cultured SSc fibroblasts and preclinical models of SSc. HSP90 is a new regulator of canonical TGF-β signalling and its inhibition prevents the stimulatory effects of TGF-β on collagen synthesis and dermal fibrosis in three preclinical models of SSc.Objectives:Herein, we aimed to evaluate the efficacy of Hsp90 inhibitor (17-DMAG) in the treatment of established… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
