“…Research in humanitarian operation management has received expanding attention during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, two significant gaps can be observed from the current research; first, a large number of the studies concentrate on supply chain aspects of crisis operation management to get all the essential materials to the beneficiaries as immediately as possible (Manoj and Maneesh, 2020), and second, there is limited evidence of research on the understanding of the best response for the COVID-19-affected refugees while the usual response policies such as the basic public health measures, social distancing, proper hand hygiene and self-isolation cannot be easily implemented or are extremely difficult to apply in refugee camps (Kluge et al, 2020). Therefore, a simulation model has been developed to study the COVID-19 impact on different aspects of refugees and consider all the possible responses to evaluate the best policy in this special case with the existence limitation.…”

“…Further, better general health conditions over the last few decades have resulted in increases in retirement age (Osborne, 2021; Yi, Ribbens, Fu & Cheng, 2015). Moreover, developing a culture capable of attracting and retaining employees of all generations is critical during a period of mass resignations (Drinkwater, 2021) that has characterized the post‐pandemic era, where the availability of a workforce can pose a crucial threat to the production and processes (Dora & Kumar, 2022), especially in the services sector, in which human resources are the most valuable asset to organizations. Hence, our work teases out this substantial consideration of performance and process effects related to generational categories.…”

“…As the nature of disasters and their induced risk to supply chains is different, the nature of barriers posed by the different disasters can be different (Cozzolino, 2012 ; Dohale et al, 2021 ; Dohale, Ambilkar, et al, 2021 ; Dohale, Gunasekaran, et al, 2021 ; Dohale, Gunasekaran, et al, 2021 ; Dohale, Verma, et al, 2021 ; Dohale, Verma, et al, 2021 ). Pandemics are the unique kind of disasters that creates a negative impact on a massive multi-country or worldwide scale, which may or may not be observed during natural disaster (Dora & Kumar, 2020 ; Thompson & Anderson, 2021 ). Although the set of barriers to HSC operations may be similar, but their nature and impact variers as per the type of disaster.…”
