Optical Absorption of Liquid Sulfur under High Pressure. Pressure Dependence of the Polymerisation of Liquid Sulfur

Abstract: An optical high pressure cell constructed for pressures up to 4000 bar and temperatures to 250°C is described. It was applied to the spectroscopic investigation of the radical polymerisation and particularly to the monomer‐polymer equilibrium in liquid sulfur (so‐called Sλ‐Sμ transition).
