Optical and magnetic properties of PAA@Fe nanocomposite films

Abstract: A simple method to fabricate porous anodic alumina films embedded with Fe is reported. The films exhibit vivid structural colors and magnetic properties after being synthesized by an ac electrodeposition method. The optical properties of the samples can be effectively tuned by varying the oxidation time of aluminum. The coercivity mechanism of the Fe nanowires in our case is consistent with fanning reversal mode. PAA@Fe films can be used in many areas including decoration, display and multifunctional anti-coun… Show more

“…Drug molecules can be loaded into the pore structure by taking advantage of the high surface area, pore volume of the material and the affinity of the pSi to the drug molecule itself [203]. The ability to tune the surface chemistry and binding techniques allows for both hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs to be loaded [210]. “…In an effort to overcome the cell membrane and deliver molecules such as DNA, proteins, drugs or dyes, pSi has been used as a permeation agent [212,228]. Subsequent studies have confirmed this result, increasing the delivery of furosemide from thermally carbonised pSi MPs [228] and thermally oxidised pSi MPs and NPs delivery of griseofulvin [210], across Caco-2 monolayers without cellular internalisation of particles. In the first demonstration of pSi as a delivery device [212], a Caco-2 human epithelial cell monolayer was incubated with particles loaded with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC).…”

“…2,3 Nanostructuring via the PAA is well known in the literature, as they are produced quickly and economically by anodizing aluminum (Al) plates in certain electrolytes. In the literature, nanocomposite films with PAA are fabricated in the forms of PAA-Al layer and filling PAA film channels by depositing gold, 6 silver, 7 nickel, 8 cobalt, 9 iron, 10 and polymer. 2 The PAA nanostructures with pore diameters in the range of 10 to 400 nm are simply achievable by the electrochemical anodization of the aluminum at voltages of 20 to 200 V in an acidic solution.…”
