Optical Filter Wavefront Distortion: Out-of-band to In-band Predictions and the Effect of the Illumination Source Bandwidth

Abstract

Measurement of wavefront distortion (WD) of optical filters is very sensitive to the filter wavelength and the bandwidth of the illumination source. We demonstrate WD measurements and analysis methods when a wavefront sensor system is not capable of measuring the filter at its operating wavelength or angle of incidence.
