“…2 shows the absorption spectrum of 1 mol% Er 3+ doped oxyfluorite glasses at room temperature in the wavelength region of 200-1800 nm. Absorption band for Er 3+ ions corresponding to transition from the 4 I 15/2 ground state to higher levels of 4 I 13/2 , 4 I 11/2 , 4 I 9/2 , 4 F 9/2 , 4 S 3/2 , 2 H 11/2 , 4 F 7/2 are labeled [21,22]. The shape and peak position of each transition in all samples are similar to the other Er 3+ doped glasses, in spite of some slight changes compared to the other glasses which originate from the different ligand field strength of host.…”

“…We can see from the UV excitation spectra of the Dy 3+ emission at the wavelengths 575 nm and 485 nm of the K 2 GdF 5 :Dy 3+ crystals [12], that two narrow lines peaking at 254 nm and 273 nm are observed in the UV-side, which correspond to the transitions from the ground state 8 S 7/2 of Gd 3+ ion to its excited states 6 D J (J = 7/2, 9/2) and 6 I 11/2 , respectively [25]. These lines are not observed in the excitation and absorption spectra of the Dy 3+ doped samples without Gd 3+ component [26,27].…”

“…The appearance of this TL glow peak at 234 • C (507 K) for the 5.0 at.% Dy 3+ :K 2 GdF 5 sample indicates a probable change in the trap structure of K 2 GdF 5 with the doping concentration of dysprosium Dy 3+ impurity. Van Do et al [12] have showed that the energy transfer occurs from Gd 3+ to Dy 3+ , resulting in the additional intense excitation UV-narrow bands for the luminescence of the Dy 3+ ions.…”

“…3+ ions are corresponding to transition from the 4 I 15/2 ground state to other higher levels. The 4 I 13/2 , 4 I 11/2 , 4 I 9/2 , 4 F 9/2 , 4 S 3/2 , 2 H 11/2 , 4 F 7/2 , 4 G 11/2 are labeled [16,17] in Figure 2. Table 3.The root-mean-squared error deviation of intensity parameters in samples are 0.26×10 -6 , 0.31×10 -6 and 0.21×10 -6 , respectively [18,19],which indicates that the validity of the calculations.…”
