Optical Properties of Aluminium Oxide Nanoparticles Synthesized by Leaf Extract of Ocimum sanctum

Abstract: In the present work aluminium oxide nanoparticles are synthesized using leaf extract of Ocimum sanctum. The synthesized sample was characterized by XRD, HR-TEM, UV-Vis, FTIR and PL. It is found that aluminium oxide nanoparticles synthesized by leaf extract are stable and show good optical properties. This method of synthesis is less toxic and cost of synthesis is low as compared to other chemical and physical methods. By XRD pattern phase of synthesized aluminium oxide nanoparticles is confirmed and the averag… Show more

“…Furthermore, the use of cerium oxide (CeO 2 ) in different fields such as antibacterial agents [13], catalysis [14], food packaging [15], sensors [16], agriculture [17], and medicine [18] has received greater attention. The development of aluminium oxide nanoparticles (Al 2 O 3 NPs) with a high specific surface area and outstanding optical, catalytic, and thermal stability properties for progressive engineering and industrial applications has recently gained attention [19][20][21][22]. Few studies suggested the use of CeO 2 /Al 2 O 3 nanocomposite in sensing applications such as Naik et al [23] described a successful synthesis of CeO 2 /Al 2 O 3 nanocomposite using the solution combustion method.…”
