Optical trimer: a theoretical physics approach to waveguide couplers

Abstract: We study electromagnetic field propagation through an ideal, passive, three-dimensional, triangular three-waveguide coupler using a symmetry-based approach that capitalizes on the underlying su(3) symmetry.
