Optimal design of multilayer radar absorbing materials: a simulation-optimization approach

Abstract: Multilayer radar absorbing materials with light weight, strong absorption, and wide absorption bandwidth are urgently demanded with the increase of electromagnetic pollution. However, the current design methods with only simulation operation or optimization strategy are not comprehensive. Here, a simulation-optimization approach including electromagnetic simulation and numerical calculation is proposed based on the interaction between different software, in which the homogeneous medium substitution method is p… Show more

“…Owing to the strong robustness in structures in the simulation software, the uniform medium modeling is put forward to save computing resources as well as shorten simulation time. 36 After the copper matrix set as 200 mm × 200 mm × 0.035 mm is covered with the absorbent 0.5Ni and 0.75Ni respectively, smaller reflected signals are exhibited compared with than the pure copper, as depicted in Fig. 10a.…”

“…To re ect the implications of as-synthesized absorbers as coatings for the EMW absorption ability in practical engineering [53][54][55][56], the radar cross section (RCS) of an ultra thin PEC plate covered with Ni 3 Fe@NCNT@CFs hierarchical bionic neural network as absorbers at different incident angles was simulated in the real far eld condition (The schematic of the model and the target detection of aircraft by radar are displayed in Fig. S8a and e, respectively).…”

“…In previous publications, the recognized treatments of single layered film have been applied wrongly to the intermediate layer of a multiple layered film [46,[58][59][60][61][62][63][64][71][72][73]. For a single layered film, incident microwaves need only be considered from the front of the film.…”
