Abstract:In this research, a flood control operating strategy is developed based on a simulation-optimization model to reduce flood damage downstream of multi-reservoir systems by using spillway gates. For this purpose, an optimization algorithm is introduced, in which the maximum water level of the downstream control points and hydropower potential generation in the flood season are objective functions, and the level of the stages of spillway gates are the decision variables. A global optimization tool, Shuffled Compl… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
