Optimal planning method with restrictive constraints for high‐rise buildings

Abstract

Network techniques have been used to perform project planning for several decades. These techniques, usually developed as general methods, do not consider the characteristics of each type of construction. After analyzing the characteristics of reinforced concrete high-rise buildings, the concept of recurrence is employed in this study to derive an optimal building planning method (OBPM), in which four constraints essential to the OBPM such as single-upward work space, building inspection, reuse of beam forms, and reuse of slab forms are included. The OBPM is developed in mathematical fashion and can be easily implemented in spreadsheet software for computerization. In comparison with other planning methods, the OBPM is more suitable and effective for high-rise building construction.
