Optimal power allocation and throughput performance of full-duplex DF relaying networks with wireless power transfer-aware channel

Abstract: In terms of modern applications of wireless sensor networks in smart cities, relay terminals can be employed to simultaneously deliver both information and energy to a designated receiver by harvesting power via radio frequency (RF). In this paper, we propose time switching aware channel (TSAC) protocol and consider a dual-hop full-duplex (FD) relaying system, where the energy constrained relay node is powered by RF signals from the source using decodeand-forward (DF) relaying protocols. In order to evaluate s… Show more

“…The paper [32] provides a survey on radio resource management solutions, including link adaptation on orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA)-based networks with DF relaying. In [33,34], optimal power allocation schemes are designed for DF relay network with continues power and rate adaptation. Throughput optimization of DF relay with discrete rate adaptation is addressed in [35][36][37].…”

“…In EH technique, solar and wind are considered as popular energy resources that are intermittent under impacts the environmental alteration. More specifically, radio frequency (RF) signal is considered as a new viable source, which can be applied in wireless power transfer (WPT) . Nevertheless, regarding traditional relay nodes using batteries to power and hence such mobile devices meet limited performance due to the short battery lifespan.…”
