Optimal vibration control of moving-mass beam systems with uncertainty

Abstract: A linear optimal regulator for uncertain system is designed through the application of the probability density evolution method to linear quadratic regulator controller. One important background of this work is bridge-vehicle/gun-projectile system. This type of optimal problem is currently transformed into a moving load problem. The developed optimal regulator can provide the law of probability densities of outputs varying with time. In order to make the advocated method reach an optimal performance, the benef… Show more

“…Indeed, many control strategies for nonlinear structures were put forward so far, which are subdivided into mathematical model-based control schemes (Zhu et al, 2000;Li et al, 2011a;Liu et al, 2020;Ikhouane et al, 2005) and machine learning-based control schemes (Kim and Lee, 2001;Chen, 2009). The optimal control treatment of nonlinear structures is a generic control strategy in the class of mathematical model-based control schemes.…”

“…An experimental study of the PDEM application for reliability-based active vibration control of a cantilevered flexible beam was carried out, which offers a cost-effective solution for active vibration control by reducing operating costs while maintaining system safety (Saraygord Afshari and Pourtakdoust, 2018). Liu et al designed a linear optimal regulator for uncertain systems deploying the PDEM, which aimed to accurately reflect the law of probability density functions of the output responses of the controlled beam-moving mass systems varying with time (Liu et al, 2020).…”
