Optimisation design of pine backrest chair based on Taguchi method

Abstract: In this paper, the ANSYS finite element analysis is applied to the pine backrest chair models. During the structure design progress, the Taguchi method for the robust design is applied. By means of the signal-noise ratio (SNR) factor effect analysis, the optimal design scheme of the structural quality of pine backrest chair is determined that the backrest chair is designed as trapezoidal seat frame, upper waling, bottom waling with II type and leaning back rear leg. Based on the above condition, the maximum eq… Show more

“…With dependence on the type of chair construction, the joint between the side rail and back leg or the seat-back joint is the most stressed joint [86][87][88]. This fact was confirmed in the process of lamella chair construction with the stress concentrated especially in the mold of seat frame.…”

“…In addition to durability, the wooden structure has stability against settlement and strong earthquake resistance. Recently, researchers have explored the specific properties of wood structure joints through quantitative calculation and analysis (Ke et al 2017). Iringová and Idunk (2017) performed static analysis on an existing load-bearing structure, and the strength of the structure was evaluated.…”
