Abstract:This paper presents a new optimization approach for estimating vocal tract configurations from the speech signal. The scheme concatenates a gradient search and linear successive approximation that provides fast convergence and small errors. The objective function is generated by the least-absolute-value (11 -norm) error between the model-derived and the speechderived first three formants. The gradient search is accelerated by using an algorithm inspired by the Fletcher -Reeves method. Linear successive approxi… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
