Abstract:In this study, briquettes were prepared from agricultural waste (coconut shell and oil palm empty fruit bunch) using cassava peels as binder. Central composite design (CCD) of response surface methodology (RSM) was used to investigate the effect of independent variables (binder amount, compaction force, and proportion of empty fruit bunch) on response variables (calorific value, compressive strength, burn rate and density). Conventional heating was adopted for the carbonization of both products: with coconut s… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
