Optimization of maritime rescue equipment in the South China Sea based on AHP-entropy weight method

Abstract

This work proposes a method that quickly selects suitable rescue resources to participate in rescue activities under limited professional rescue equipment in the South China Sea. Specifically, the developed scheme relies on the analytic hierarchy process to establish a rescue equipment selection model and determine the weight coefficient of the index, which is further modified utilizing an entropy weight coefficient method. The importance of each index for the rescue equipment selection process is obtained by comparing the size of the combined weight value. Then, the analytic hierarchy process and the weighted scoring decision method are used to optimize the rescue equipment and compare the sorting results. The sorting results are verified through actual South China Sea rescue cases, revealing that the ranking results are consistent with the actual dispatch plan and demonstrating that the proposed method is scientific and feasible for selecting marine salvage equipment.
