This study is based on the cold regions of China, namely severe and cold regions. By fully utilizing photovoltaic technology, local green energy can be reasonably utilized, and feasible reference can be provided for architectural design in cold regions of China. Based on the “dual carbon” goal, the application of photovoltaic technology in building skins is discussed. Through the research of this project, it is possible to clarify ways to reduce carbon emissions and promote local green and sustainable development. Examples were provided to illustrate the main manifestations of photovoltaic building integration. Through the specific application and analysis of photovoltaic housing projects, photovoltaic curtain walls, photovoltaic components, and photovoltaic materials in the skin system, it is explained that photovoltaic materials can play an important role in participating in the shaping of building form and space. The key to the integration of photovoltaic building technology is to find the best balance between energy, comfort, indoor lighting environment, economy, and design aesthetics.

Under the current ‘double carbon’ policy, the building materials manufacturing industry has seriously restricted the improvement of social and environmental benefits. Digital green innovation (DGI) in photovoltaic building materials enterprises (PBMES) plays a crucial role in solving the problems of high-quality environmental and economic development. In order to make the DGI of PBMES more effective, it is very critical to evaluate the performance of the DGI activities of PBMES. First, the evaluation index system is constructed. Then, it constructs the theoretical framework of the DGI performance evaluation of PBMES. After that, on the basis of combining various evaluation methods, a combination evaluation model based on compatibility and consistency was constructed and the convergence test and consistency test of the combination evaluation results were carried out by means of the variance method and Spearman rank correlation coefficient, which verified the scientificity and validity of the method. Finally, using the evaluation model, 16 PBMES were empirically studied. It reflected that the DGI performance evaluation index system of PBMES is composed of four indexes, namely, technology input, economic output, scientific and technological output, and social effect. The key factors affecting the DGI performance of PBMES are the investment in talent training, the proportion of digital technology in green products, the success rate of digital innovation product development increased by DGI cooperation, and the digital level of adopting environmental management system. This article combines consistency-based evaluation methods to not only obtain reasonable evaluation results, but also fully utilize multi-level methods to better describe the evaluation object. The means provided in this article are a new way to solve the DGI performance evaluation of PBMES.

A procedure to prioritize the cities to utilize a building integrated photovoltaic thermal (BIPV/T) system is proposed in which the technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) is employed as a systematic decision-making method. Electricity generation and heat recovery in a year from the energy side, levelized cost of electricity (LCOE), and payback period (PBP) from the economic viewpoint, as well as the carbon dioxide savings from the environmental perspective, are taken into account as the decision criteria. They are the key economic, environmental, and energy (3E) performance indicators of the system. The novelty of the proposed research approach is two items. The first item is systematic and could be employed for each and every case. Moreover, another item is that selection is made based on energy, economic, and environmental (3E) criteria all together, as the important aspects of an energy system. Having introduced the procedure, it is utilized to rank five cities in Iran for the installation of BIPV/T technologies. The cities are Tehran, Tabriz, Yazd, Rasht, and Bandar Abbas, where each one is a populated city from one of the climatic conditions of the country. According to the results, a high priority is seen for two cities: the first city is Yazd with the highest ambient temperature and relative humidity among the alternatives, and the other city is Tehran, with the highest natural gas and electricity tariffs, as well as the greatest price for operating and maintenance. The values of heat recovery, electricity generation, carbon dioxide savings, PBP, and LCOE for Yazd are 42.3 MWh, 23.4 MWh, 16.8 tons, 5.48 years, and 9.45 cents per kWh. The corresponding values for Tehran are 35.6 MWh, 21.6 MWh, 15.0 tons, 2.79 years, and 8.71 cents per kWh, respectively.
