Optimized Common-Mode Voltage Reduction PWM for Three-Phase Voltage-Source Inverters

Abstract: In this paper, two new optimized common-mode voltage reduction PWM (CMVRPWM) strategies based on solving the established constrained nonlinear programming models in the time domain are proposed and analyzed. The proposed current ripple losses optimized CMVRPWM (CRLO-CMVRPWM) minimizes the mean-square values of the three-phase current ripples by calculating the optimized special solutions of the voltage-second balance equations under the designed switching sequences. CRLO-CMVRPWM can achieve better output wavef… Show more

“…All signals are converted by a digital-to-analog chip (TLV5610) and displayed on a digital oscilloscope. The traditional two-level inverter topology is adopted [30]. Switching frequency of the inverter and sampling frequency of the control system are set to 10 kHz.…”

“…Experiments on a 2-level IPMSM drive system [32] were subsequently carried out to further verify the effectiveness of the proposed observer. The composition of the IPMSM test platform is given in Figure 8, where a DSP TMS320F2812 was chosen as the MCU and output signals of a D/A chip (TLV5610) were displayed by an oscilloscope to monitor system variables in real-time.…”

“…Because the non-nearest vectors for two triangles were selected in the PWM, this causes the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the line-to-line voltage to be higher than the conventional method. Similar PWMs have been presented in References [11][12][13][14]. However, these PWMs are difficult to extend to higher levels.…”
