In fields with multiple formation damage mechanisms, the challenge becomes even greater. Standard industry practices often fail to remove all of the formation damage or prevent it from occurring for a variety of reasons including improper identification of the damage mechanism and selection of inappropriate remedial or prevention techniques. In this environment, only a well planned, comprehensive approach designed to cover all aspects of formation damage will succeed in optimizing production.
