Optimizing the treatment of patients with irritable bowel syndrome: focus on increased compliance

Abstract: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a functional gastrointestinal disorder that is characterized by periodic abdominal pain associated with altered bowel habits and/or changes in stool consistency.
