Abstract:The incidence of hepatitis C virus infection in Russia is 2–3 %. In our country the socio-economic damage caused by the increase in the incidence of chronic hepatitis and its consequences, such as liver cirrhosis and hepatocarcinoma, is enormous. The goal of antiviral therapy for chronic hepatitis C is a sustained virological response, which is associated with a biochemical response and regression of hepatic tissue fibrosis, which leads to a decrease in the liver cirrhosis development.
