Oral Delivery of Synthetic Eel Calcitonin, Elcatonin, in Rats.

Abstract: Recent advances in biotechnology have made available large numbers of bioactive peptides, which may have therapeutic potential. Many polypeptides are susceptible to degradation by proteolytic enzymes and are poorly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract.
