Abstract:Orange carotenoid protein (OCP) is a photochromic carotenoprotein involved in the photoprotection of cyanobacteria. It is activated by blue-green light to a red form OCPR capable of dissipating the excess of energy of the cyanobacterial photosynthetic light-harvesting systems.
