Background Globalization and innovative technologies forced organizations to adopt innovative approaches and innovations for gaining a sustainable competitive advantage. Innovative Work Behavior (IWB) is related to the employees, ability, and enthusiasm to create innovative ideas. It exhibits a dynamic framework that is easier to be impacted by the ethical climate. Methods Descriptive correlational design was applied and the study was performed at different inpatient units in Kafrelsheikh Governorate General Hospital. Two hundred twenty-two staff nurses and 45 head nurses from the aforementioned setting were chosen as a purposive sample. Two instruments were utilized to obtain the data; Innovative Work Behavior questionnaire and Ethical Climate Questionnaire. The significance of the acquired data was evaluated at the 5% level. Number and percentage were used to describe qualitative data and Range frequency, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson coefficient were used to characterize quantitative data. Results More than half of staff nurses had a positive perception of innovative work behavior and more than three quarters of them had a negative Ethical climate perception. Conclusion The study proved a significant relation between Efficiency dimension and the overall innovative work behavior perception p = 0.044, and the economic affairs and innovation dimension and the overall ethical climate perception p = 0.033.

The study systematically analyzes the literature's reflections to determine the dimensions and criteria affecting innovation performance in the healthcare sector and healthcare organizations. In order to achieve this goal, studies published between 2018 and 2022 in the Web of Science and Google Scholar databases are searched with the keywords "innovation" and "healthcare.” Out of 1,103 studies, 52 that met the screening criteria are included in the research analysis. The results show that the dimensions affecting innovation performance in the health sector and health institutions can be grouped as organizational culture, leadership, human resources, organizational structure, knowledge acquisition and knowledge sharing, cooperation, policy and management support, and technology. As a result of the study, explanations of the scope of each dimension are given, and suggestions are presented as to which areas healthcare organizations that want to increase their innovation performance should focus on improving. It is thought that healthcare organizations that want to evaluate their current innovation performance can also measure and assess within the scope of the exact dimensions.

Background: Head nurses' Innovative work behaviors are seen as a strategic foundation since organizations must cope with increasing complexity and rapid change to have a place in ever challenging environments. In these contexts, organizations with climate conductive to innovate will be able to cope with challenges faster and get better opportunities. Aim of the study: To determine the relation between organizational climate, head nurses' innovative work behaviors and organizational innovativeness. And, to explore the role of organizational innovativeness as a mediating variable. Subjects and Methods: Research design: Descriptive correlational design. Setting: The study was executed in all inpatient medical, surgical, and intensive care units at Zagazig University Hospitals. Subject: convenient sample of head nurses who matched inclusion criteria n=288. Tools of data collection: Three tools were used for data collection as follows; Organizational Climate Questionnaire, Innovative Work Behavior Scale, and Organizational Innovativeness Questionnaire. Results: Total levels of organizational climate and head nurses' innovative work behaviors were high, while the total level of organizational innovativeness was moderate as reported by head nurses. There was positive statistically significant relation between the total level of organizational climate and the total level of head nurses' innovative work behaviors. Regarding organizational innovativeness, there were highly positive statistically significant relations with the total levels of organizational climate, and head nurses' innovative work behaviors. Conclusion: Organizational climate positively related to head-nurses' innovative work behaviors and organizational innovativeness partially mediated the relation between them. Recommendations: Maintaining hospital innovative and open to change environment to foster a positive working climate which enhances innovative work behaviors of head nurses.
