Abstract.The occurrence of a bounce in the FRW cosmology requires modifications of General Relativity. An example of such a modification is the recently proposed Hořava-Lifshitz theory of gravity, which includes a "dark radiation" term with a negative coefficient in the analog of the Friedmann equation. A modification of the HL gravity, relaxing the "detailed balance" condition, brings additional terms to the equations of motion, corresponding to stiff matter. This paper presents comparison of the phase structure of the original and modified Hořava cosmology. Special attention is paid to the analysis of a wide range of bouncing solution, appearing in both versions of the Hořava theory.

Cosmologies of multiple spherical brane-universe model

The Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric with spherical topology is calculated as an effective metric at the brane in a multiple branes in D−dimensional spacetime scenario. In this model the radius of the brane is the cosmological scale factor, and its evolution is calculated from the viewpoint of the observers on their respective branes. The cosmology of the brane-universe is analyzed in cases where the anisotropic pressure has a cosmological constant like state equation. The pressure values needed to distinguish the oscillating, expanding or collapsing solutions are found, and the minimum value of a brane-universe mass to prevent a collapse into a black hole is also calculated. Finally the equation of motion is solved numerically in order to illustrate the different cosmological scenarios and to validate the analytical results.

Rioting historically has been known to cause changes in individual cognition, with heightened emotionality, increased excitement and reduced reflective thought. A cross-disciplinary literature review hypothesises emotional states generate corresponding metabolic bio magnetic fields that radiate in patterns reflecting these emotional states. The oscillatory phase of these waves is advanced as being more significant than the power of signal, permitting stochastic effects to magnify signals by appropriating ambient noise. Possible transmission and detection structures in the body are discussed, induced paramagnetic sensitivity in crowd participants in a phase transition process is hypothesised, the effect may be proportional to crowd numbers. It is suspected that positive effects seen in Transcranial Magnetic Therapy used to treat depression may be operating on this mechanism, acting on natural receptors in the limbic system which also capture light and are implicated in mood transitions. A number of paramagnetic neurotransmitters may be implicated.
