Outage Performance of Wireless Powered Decode-and-Forward Relaying Networks in Rician Fading

Abstract: This paper investigates the outage performance of simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT)-enabled relay networks with the decode-and-forward relaying protocol, where the effect of the energy triggering threshold at the relay on the system performance is considered. The closed-form expressions of the system outage probability and throughput are derived in Rician channel fading. Monte Carlo Simulation method is used to verify the accuracy of the derived closed-form expressions. The effects o… Show more

“…To estimate the possibility of an outage event occurring in a data stream where the achievable data rate is lower than the encoded data rate [20], [50], we investigate the outage probability when the UE 1 is capable of detecting x 2 and x 1 . The outage probability (P 1 ) of UE 1 in relation to the threshold signal-tonoise ratio (SNR) for CR-NOMA users UE 1 , UE 2 (denoting Ω 1 , Ω 2 , respectively) may be characterized as follows based on the preceding definition:…”
