Outcomes of COVID-19 in hospitalized kidney and liver transplant recipients- a single-center experience

Abstract: Solid organ transplant recipients are vulnerable to severe course of infectious diseases. Our study indicates that kidney transplant recipients are at high risk for severe COVID-19 illness and death, providing a rationale for prioritizing COVID-19 vaccination and aggressive management in this group. Kidney transplant recipients with lower baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate, a higher respiratory rate on admission and diabetes mellitus had increased risk of COVID-19 in-hospital mortality.
