Abstract:The integration of superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) into the power grid can achieve the goal of storing energy, improving energy quality, improving energy utilization, and enhancing system stability. The early SMES used low-temperature superconducting magnets cooled by liquid helium immersion, and the complex low-temperature cooling system greatly limited the promotion and application of such devices. SMES based on high temperature superconductivity (HTS) materials can operate in the temperature … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
