Abstract:Studies related to delineating the influence of thermal-buoyancy forces on the thermal-hydraulics of Liquid Metal Fast Breeder Reactor piping systems and heat exchangers under low-flow thermal transient con-ditions have generated unique information which will aid design of these components. Various buoyancy force induced phenomena such as thermal stratification. flow recirculation. stagnation. and channeling are described and the importance to component performance are discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
