Investigating consumers' brand desirability for upcycled luxury brands

This paper investigates consumers' values on attitude and brand desirability for upcycled luxury designer shirts. Consumer values in the present study's context consist of terminal and instrumental values. Findings show that terminal values do not strongly influence the attitude towards the Burberry previous collection shirts nor brand desirability for the Burberry leftover fabric shirts and the Burberry previous collection shirts compared to Burberry generic shirts. Instrumental values do not strongly influence the attitude towards the Burberry leftover fabric shirts. Still, a stronger influence on brand desirability for the Burberry previous collection shirts than Burberry generic shirts. Managerial and strategic implications should focus on instrumental values to evoke favorable luxury brand desirability.

Towards green environment the trend to reuse wastes instead of their disposal that harm our planet is growing recently. Upcycling leather wastes is important aspect to achieve sustainability. Handmade weaving by multiaxial weave's structures is somewhat new to be used in women's fashion clothes. This paper discusses the upcycling of old items and leather wastes created at the cutting stage during leather goods production. Converting leather wastes into stripes with different widths and weaving in weaves (tri-axial, quart, hexagonal structures) with different patterns, using handloom. The innovated produced muti-axial weaves are applied in sustainable women's clothes, designs are created by using both 3D virtual CLO and Adobe Photoshop software. 95% of questionnaire respondents agree that the multi-axis leather weaves achieve the concept of sustainability. After gathering expert 's opinions, design No. 3, 16, 1, 10, 8, 13, and 4 by sequence, are achieved the best results in achieving aesthetic added value.

Sustainable fibers are at the forefront of a global shift towards more environmentally conscious and responsible practices within the textile and fashion industries. These fibers are sourced and produced with the goal of minimizing their ecological impact, conserving resources, and promoting ethical labor practices. Sustainable fibres are generally examined in three categories; Natural fibers with high biodegradability, regenerated fibers such as Tencel and Modal and finally recyled fibers such as recycled pet and recycled poliamid which are derived from post-consumer waste reducing the need for virgin materials. This study has been conducted in order to give a brief summarization about the latest sustainable textile fibres and their advantages with the manner of sustainable textile production. Some textile companies that has just newly developed their branded sustainable fibre were also mentioned within the study to give special examples.
