Oxcarbazepine-induced Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis: A Rare Case Report

Abstract: Anti-epileptic medications are highly susceptible to be the causative agents for Steven Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN). Although carbamazepine (CBZ), lamotrigine are the most associated anti-epileptic drug, oxcarbazepine (OXC), which is a monohydrated derivative of CBZ, is suggested to be much safer because of the different metabolic processes of the two drugs.
