Oxidation of Abattoir Wastewater Using Cobalt-Catalyzed Potassium Persulfate

Abstract: Abattoir wastewater (AWW) contains a high level of organic pollutants due to the presence of toxic contaminants such as blood, feces from animals, and detergents from cleaning activities. In this study, the wastewater from the slaughterhouse was treated with a cobalt-catalyzed persulfate oxidation reaction to determine how well persulfate works as an oxidant to get rid of and break down organic materials.
