Oxidation ofC2molecules

Abstract: The nature of processes responsible for open‐circuit potentials in solutions containing C2 compounds is considered. The peculiarities of adsorption of C2 compounds on electrode surfaces are reviewed, and also the specific features of electrocatalytic oxidation of these reactants under nonsteady state and steady state modes. The principles of choice of electrode materials for effective electrooxidation of C2 molecules are formulated, and the prospects of practical applications of these reactions are discussed.
