Carbonylation reactions constitute important methodologies for the synthesis of all kinds of carboxylic acid derivatives. [2] In this respect, the transition-metal-catalyzed carbonylation of allylic compounds is of considerable interest for the synthesis of versatile b,g-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivatives. Here, a benign palladium-based catalyst system for the alkoxycarbonylation of conjugated dienes under acid-free conditions has been developed.
