“…A previous study on La 2 Mo 2 O 9 single crystals showed that single crystals of the α-La 2 Mo 2 O 9 form with domains and of the β form can be obtained by slow cooling and by quenching from high temperature, respectively. [18] Piezoelectric tests [18] and nonlinear optical properties studied by SHG (second harmonic generation) powder measurements [10] demonstrated the polarity of α-La 2 Mo 2 O 9 crystals and suggested that the origin of domains in the crystals might be connected with their ferroelectricity. It is worth noting that domains are typical features of the monoclinic phase.…”

“…2 presents the crystal structure of the cubic b-La 2 Mo 2 O 9 which has been investigated at 33 K by Alekseeva et al [29]. The single crystals of light yellowish color were grown at 1200°C according to the method described by Voronkova [26]. The unit cell parameters fixed at 33 K for the high temperature cubic symmetry is LaO 8 polyhedra and one LaO 7 are connected by sharing oxygen ions, forming complex network in the three dimensions [30].…”

“…Many researchers have tried to characterize the structure and fix the unit cell parameters. It has been established that LAMOX compound undergo a polymorphic transition from the low-temperature monoclinic a-phase (stable at room temperature) to the high-temperature cubic b-form [22,[24][25][26][27][28]. This transition was classified as the first order one, accompanied by an increase in the conductivity by approximately two orders of magnitude.…”

“…Complex molybdates display a variety of crystal structures and possess useful electro-physical, optical and catalytic properties [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]. Double molybdates containing alkali and trivalent metals are well known in literature and belong to the wide crystal family MLn(MoO 4 ) 2 (M-alkali metal and Ln-lanthanide) having important properties and applications.…”
