“…In addition, the distribution (ordering) of oxygen atoms among the atomic sites strongly affects T c . The order-disorder transition of chain-oxygen has been extensively studied both experimentally and theoretically [8,9,12,13,14,15]. Raman studies show that there exists a pressure-induced ordering phenomenon [19].…”

“…It has been determined experimentally that the orthorhombicto-tetragonal phase transition in the RE-123 series take place at an oxygen composition in the range of 6.4 (Er) to 6.83 (Nd), not all at 6.5 (Y) [20,21,22]. The change of oxygen content leads to the change of structure such as lattice parameters and atomic positions [8,9], which in turn alters the formation energy of Frenkel pairs. Since we set the reference transition temperature to be the value in Y-123 case, this corresponds to the transition at oxygen content being 6.5.…”

“…In a magnetic field the sample showed in comparison with a variety of other samples high levitation indicating a large MeiBner effect. Using the relation between oxygen content and lattice parameters reported by Cava et al [25] we found that the sample had the composition YBa2Cu307+6 where 6=0.1_+0.1. A large oxygen concentration, with 6>0, may be responsible for a value of T~ (~-86 K) smaller than values (~-94 K) known for samples with 6 <0.…”

“…Expression (2) allows for the effect of hydrostatic pressure on the thermodynamic properties of phase, but for an accurate determination of the parameters W ri , l ri and j ri in (3), volume measurements at different T and P are needed. These data were usually calculated from the values of the crystal lattice parameters determined by means of XRD [14,17,18,21,[30][31][32][33][34][35] or NDA [16]. From these results crystal thermal expansion coefficients, compressibility, or bulk modulus can be also derived.…”
