Abstract

Considering the advancement of the affective relationship between humans and animals, and their consecutive connection highly consolidated, it is increasing the genuine interest of tutors and veterinary professionals in the "pet" area, and it is being generated the research for capable alternatives for curing diseases, which conventional treatments are not always effective. An example of it is being ozone therapy. With high oxidative power, this technique has demonstrated its high potential for veterinary therapy. Patients who is treated on the basis of ozone have shown significant clinical improvements in their conditions when assisted by professionals who understand the toxicity of this technique when used improperly. Currently, ozone therapy is a complementary form of medical treatment that is used combined with conventional medicine, adapted to each specific condition. The medical use of ozone gas is promising due to its simple application and relatively low cost compared to other therapies and medicines.
