p‐Polarized Nonlinear Surface Polaritions near the Surface of a Saturable Self‐Focusing Medium

In most of the papers the field-dependent dielectric function was supposed to be unsaturated, a dependence of the dielectric function on one of the field components (transverse or longitudinal) was neglected, and so on. The exact theory free of such approximations is presented in /18 to 221 (note, the solutions in 118 to 20/ are capable of dealing with different types of non-linear mechanisms). Using the solution 121, 221 we have investigated the properties of the NLSP propagating along the interface of a linear medium with negative dielectric function an(\ a saturable self-focusing medium.Consider a p-polarized NLSP propagating along the interface (z = 0) plane of two non-magnetic media, one of which (medium I in the region z < 0) is optically linear and the other (medium I1 in the region z > 0) is optically nonlinear.
