“…Evidences indicated that appropriate use of surgical antimicrobial prophylaxis which can be expressed by appropriate selection, time of first dose administration, dose, dosing interval and duration administration can prevent up to 40 to 60% of SSI (The Medical Letter, 2006;Gray and Hawn, 2009;CDC, 2002;Levy et al, 2000). Despite this evidence, country wide surveys demonstrated that recommendation of surgical antimicrobial prophylaxis use guidelines are not routinely followed (Mangram et al, 1999;Burke, 2001;Gül et al, 2013).
