Abstract: Background and Aims Tunneled catheter-related bacteremia (TCRB) is a common and severe cause of bacteremia among hemodialysis (HD)-dependent patients. TCRB have reported incidence of 0.5 to 5.5 events per 1000 catheter days and are associated with increased morbidity and death.
