Abstract:BackgroundHuman papillomavirus (HPV) is an increasing risk factor for cancer. HPV‐associated oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) is associated with a favorable outcome. Blockstaining for p16 is a surrogate marker for HPV+ OPSCC.
