Bilateral pneumonitis: case reportA 69-year-old woman developed bilateral pneumonitis during treatment with afatinib for metastatic EGFR-positive lung adenocarcinoma.The woman, who had metastatic EGFR-positive lung adenocarcinoma T3N3M1 brain, received afatinib 40mg [route not stated]. She improved; however, following two months of treatment, she reported cough and shortness of breath. Chest high-resolution (HR) CT showed bilateral pneumonitis. Based on the finding, a diagnosis of bilateral pneumonitis associated with afatinib was confirmed [duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated].The woman was treated with pulse-dose unspecified steroid after inclusion of infection and heart failure; however, her condition worsened, and she died with respiratory failure.
