P509 Biomarkers of neutrophil activity and extracellular matrix turnover predict long-term response to vedolizumab in patients with Crohn’s disease

Abstract: Background Crohn‘s disease (CD) is a form of inflammatory bowel disease characterized by high infiltration of immune cells into the intestinal tissue, resulting in increased proteolytic mediated extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. Disease management has improved with the use of biologics such as vedolizumab (VEDO). However, considering the high rate of primary non-response to VEDO, there is an unmet need for predictive serum biomarkers capable of determining response to treatment prior to … Show more

“…The 34 selected records explored 17 different biomarkers (Figure 1), including 9 molecules from the granules 2134 ; 2 found in the cytoplasm, 27,3539 2 in the plasmatic membrane, 31,32,40–48 and 4 only formed in the plasma. 25,32,43,46,4954 The most mentioned biomarker was nCD64 (index or ratio; 7 times), 31,4045 followed by calprotectin (5 times) 27,3538 and oncostatin M (OSM), 3134 neutrophil elastase (HNE)-generated calprotectin (S100a9) fragment (CPa9-HNE), 4952 and triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 1 (TREM1) 32,46…”
