Abstract:Background Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (DNACPR) discussions and decisions form an integral part of advance care planning. Although DNACPR is a medical decision, doctors have a legal duty to involve patients and relatives. However such conversations can be difficult, requiring good communication skills and an understanding of the legal position.
