“…The female/male ratio of these Turkish patients with CSC was 1/2.7, consistent with our previous study 18. The female/male ratio was significantly higher in chronic cases (1/3.4) than classic cases (1/2.4).…”

“…Pachychoroid features are sometimes associated with not only retinal diseases [24, 25] but also neuroophthalmological diseases including nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy and glaucoma [26, 27]. In unilateral central serous chorioretinopathy, even the fellow eyes have pachychoroid features in 92% of cases [24]. In the present study, some of the patients with amblyopia had a much larger outer choroidal vascular area in both eyes.…”

“…Additionally, pachychoroid disorders are receiving a lot of attention in the field of retina research and imply choroidal manifestations, including increased choroidal thickness and dilation of the outer choroidal vessels, and are involved in the underlying pathology [23]. Pachychoroid features are sometimes associated with not only retinal diseases [24, 25] but also neuroophthalmological diseases including nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy and glaucoma [26, 27]. “…We recruited consecutive patients with PPE (PPE group), patients with pachychoroid eye without changes in the retina (Pachy group), and patients with normal choroid and retina (controls) that visited our hospital between June 2017 and March 2018. Diagnosis of pachychoroid was based on previously established definitions 2,19 , (i.e. subfoveal choroidal thickness >300 μm or an extrafoveal focus that exceeded fovea choroidal thickness by at least 50 μm), and the presence of pachyvessels identified on OCT b-scans and en face images 6 .…”
